Stories and Stanzas published Nickety Nackety News in December 2005. The six months prior to this had seen all members of the group beavering away to ensure the completion of the task by Christmas.

The first, and most demanding job, of course, was to produce a large collection of short stories and poems (Stories and Stanzas - what else!). Early on, each Monday meeting bubbled with extended discussions of possible subjects and themes which, having been analysed in depth, were then taken as the raw material for the creation of interesting lies - ie. pure fiction - written in prose and verse.

Several meetings were then required to decide which (if any) of these were worthy of public consumption.  When a selection was agreed upon (under the watchful eye of our expert leader) a further period was required to produce draft masters, collate the many disparate pieces and forge them into a magazine which was coherent in both style and ethos.  In early December we all heaved a sigh of relief when we finally managed to meet our deadline and by early January 2006 all three hundred copies had been sold.

Amidst all this paper and activity there were many moments when some of us felt that we had bitten off more than we could chew and that we couldn't see the wood for the trees - but when the dust had settled we suddenly saw everything in a new light - and not a cliche in sight!!  After costs had been deducted, a small profit remained from our sales - and when this was donated to a well-known national charity, the entire exercise was deemed by one and all to have been a resounding, and satisfying, success.
